Grade 1: STEM Park (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
Our youngest learners from Grade 1 explored the wonders of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) at a vibrant STEM Park. The visit was filled with interactive activities, where students engaged with simple machines, participated in building challenges, and explored basic science concepts in a playful environment. This visit sparked curiosity and laid the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Grade - 5 & 6: Coir Factory
Students from Grades 5 and 6 visited a coir factory, diving into the world of sustainable materials and traditional craftsmanship. They observed the process of transforming coconut husks into coir fibers and witnessed how these fibers are used to create various products like ropes, mats, and brushes. This visit provided insights into the importance of eco-friendly practices and the role of traditional industries in modern economies.
Grade - 7: Pavers Manufacturing Unit
The Grade 7 students had the opportunity to visit a pavers manufacturing unit, where they learned about the intricacies of manufacturing pavers, from raw material processing to the final product. They explored the role of pavers in urban development, discussed the importance of sustainable materials, and even engaged in a design challenge, sparking their interest in engineering and environmental conservation.
Grade - 8 & 9: Chencoptex Cooperative Society
Students from Grades 8 and 9 explored Chencoptex, a prominent handloom factory known for its exquisite craftsmanship and dedication to preserving traditional weaving techniques. The visit provided students with an up-close view of the intricate process involved in creating handwoven textiles. They observed skilled artisans at work, learning about the various stages from yarn preparation to the final woven fabric.
This industrial visit was a remarkable experience for Erode Public School students, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, and inspiring them to think critically about the world around them. The recent series of industrial visits organized by Erode Public School provided students with invaluable real-world experiences across various industries. From the engaging STEM Park for Grade 1, where young minds explored the basics of science and engineering, to the insightful tour of the coir factory for Grades 5 and 6, which highlighted sustainable practices and traditional craftsmanship, each visit offered a unique learning opportunity.
Grades 7 students gained a deeper understanding of the pavers manufacturing process, discovering the role of engineering in urban development, while Grades 8 and 9 delved into the rich heritage of handloom weaving at Chencoptex, appreciating the artistry and cultural significance of traditional textiles.
These visits have not only enriched the students’ educational journey but also connected classroom concepts with real-world applications, fostering curiosity, appreciation for craftsmanship, and a broader perspective on various industries. Erode Public School continues to be dedicated to providing experiential learning opportunities that inspire and prepare students for the future.
